Ground mount solar installations for rural areas are becoming increasingly popular, with Doug Hall Poultry recently contracting Todae Solar to install a 95kW ground mount solar system at its rural Ellerslie site. This will add to its current 100kW solar system installed in 2015. The QLD based poultry farm has been in operation since 1958 and has become one of Australia’s highest quality suppliers of poultry based products.
The most recent installation is a similar ground mount system to the one installed by Todae Solar in 2015, and is expected to deliver 170,000kWh in its first year once construction has been completed. Ground Mount solar installations are a fantastic option for organisations operating in rural or regional areas as there is more space available for exposure to sunny land. Additionally, ground mount solar systems are beneficial as they bypass common challenges involved with rooftop installations such as unwanted shading or limited roof space.
Ground mount solar installations are also relatively safer for the workers who install them, as there is no need for cranes or scissor lifts to transport the solar panels, rails and equipment to the roof.
This recent installation adds to Todae Solar’s growing ground mount solar system portfolio, which includes companies such as Australian Vintage, PGH Bricks & Pavers, Mclean Farms and more.
