No. Battery-only projects are eligible under BESS3, BESS4 and BESS5. However, eligible projects that include new solar may receive higher incentives under the PDRS methodology.
BESS3, BESS4 and BESS5 apply to eligible installations completed on or after 1 September 2026.
The incentive depends on several factors, including battery capacity, inverter capacity, project type, and whether new solar is installed. Every project is individually assessed in accordance with the NSW PDRS methodology.
